SMOKE & CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR CHECKS
The Middletown Fire Department wants to remind residents and businesspeople to check their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms as they spring their clocks forward this weekend.
Clocks will be moved ahead one hour on Sunday, March 9 at 2 am.
Properly installed and maintained smoke and carbon monoxide alarms play a crucial role in emergency scenarios. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reported that from 2018-2022, 59 percent of home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.
So, take a few minutes to test your alarms and if you need assistance or advice, get in touch with Middletown Fire at https://mdl.town/MPD or 401-846-1031.
Thanks for your consideration and have a great Middletown day.
Regards,
Robert McCall
Interim Fire Chief
