This week, Forest Avenue School students in third grade teacher Jenn Holubesko's class discussed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the positive, lasting impact he had on the world today. Holubesko said the lessons of Dr. King are important for students to hear throughout the year, not just around Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is on Monday, Jan. 17.
"Students learned that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. inspires us to be great community members," Holubesko said. "Our class read a book about Dr. King and made connections. They discussed ways people can work together right here in our community and honor Dr. King's message."
