Four trees were planted at the elementary school to mark the extraordinary school year and to honor the efforts of the students and staff.
MIDDLETOWN (JULY 6, 2021) -- A tree planting initiative at Forest Avenue Elementary School recently was completed at the kindergarten through third grade school.
Four trees -- one for each grade -- were planted to mark and honor the extraordinary efforts by students and staff over the past school year, which was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following trees were planted: 'American' Beech, 'Autumn Blaze' Maple, 'New Harmony' Elm and 'Star' Magnolia.
This project was made possible by support from Domina’s Agway, Boulevard Nurseries, Moore Blooms, and the Day and Williams families. Additional thanks to Middletown's Tree Commission for their guidance and to Forest Avenue School's facilities managers, who planted the trees and continue to care for them.
These trees will serve as an icon of our community’s resilience for years to come.
