This week, two firefighters attended training at the Sterling Rope center to learn how to get out of dangerous situations safely. The courses were part of the ongoing training for emergency responders to help keep Middletown safe.
According to Interim Fire Chief Kevin Partridge, two Middletown firefighters attended a "bailout" classes this week at the Sterling Rope training center in Biddeford, Maine. The goal was to help firefighters learn safety and survival skills to get themselves out of dangerous situations. The Chief said when a firefighter is trapped in a room on the upper levels of a building and needs to get out, they are taught how to “bailout” to safety through a window. The courses are part of the ongoing training for Middletown emergency personnel to keep the community safe.
