MIDDLETOWN CENTER HEARINGS SLATED
MIDDLETOWN, RI (AUGUST 4, 2025) – Public hearings on rezoning petitions for the Middletown Center project have been set.
At Monday night’s meeting in Town Hall, the Town Council scheduled the hearings for Sept. 16 and 30 at 6 pm in the Middletown High School cafetorium. The hearings are planned for the school at 130 Valley Road due to the anticipated turnout.
Local leaders said the hearings about the project for 600-740 West Main Road would be in September to avoid conflicts with summer vacation schedules and meet all advertising requirements.
They said everyone will have a chance to offer feedback and ask questions about the mixed use proposal in the center of Middletown.
“This is an important process and we know there’s a lot of interest in it,” council President Paul M. Rodrigues said. “We’re looking forward to hearing what people have to say about the project.”
The following documents related to Middletown Center were presented Monday night during the consent calendar portion of the meeting:
Anyone interested in reviewing a hard copy of each of the aforementioned documents can drop into the Planning Department or Town Clerk’s office in Town Hall during normal business hours.
