The #MiddletownRI Town Council hears updates Tuesday night on the new Middletown Middle High School, awards several subcontracts for that project and other news.

MIDDLETOWN TOWN COUNCIL

Of Note:
- Heard a welcome from council President Paul M. Rodrigues, who thanked everyone for their hard work, hoped everyone had a great summer and noted “it’s going to get busy” in coming weeks with items on the town’s agenda.
- Got an update from Shared Facilities Director Ed Collins on the new Middletown Public Library project at 110 Enterprise Center as well as the new Middletown Middle High School and related work, all which continues to move along well, on time and on budget.
- Unanimously approved subcontracts for millwork, painting, theater and stage equipment and window treatments like blinds and shades for Middletown Middle High School at 1225 Aquidneck Ave., just north of the existing Gaudet Middle School building.
- Appointed Barbara Barrow to the Board of Canvassers to fill a term ending on March 2029.
- Okayed updated ordinances to better manage temporary storage containers located on properties across the community.
