Beaches
No, Seasonal Beach Passes and Daily Passes can be paid for with cash or check only (please make checks payable to the Town of Middletown).
Please note: There is no ATM at the facility.

No Dogs Allowed on Beach, except:
- May 1: September 30 from 5 to 7:45 am
- October 1: April 30 from sunrise to sunset
Dogs must be leashed.

No, smoking is not permitted at Sachuest Beach and Third Beach.

Seasonal beach passes are priced as follows:
- Middletown resident: $90
- Middletown Senior (Senior rates apply to patrons 65 years old or older): $85
- Middletown motorcycles: $40
- Non-Middletown resident: $180
- Non-Middletown Senior (Senior rates apply to patrons 65 years old or older): $170
- Non-Middletown motorcycles: $80
Parking Note
A Seasonal Beach Pass does not guarantee you a parking space, all parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yes, the lots can reach capacity around 9 am on a weekend or a holiday but they can also fill up on hot, sunny weekdays as well. Plan ahead, get to the beach early.

Yes, we have a number of beach wheelchairs available, when pulling in the lot ask the gate attendant about borrowing one.

Yes, surfing is allowed from just west of path 8 and Lifeguard Tower 9 all the way to Purgatory Chasm. Rental equipment is available in the Surfer’s End parking lot.

At Second Beach, yes, but it is not allowed at Third Beach. Kite surfing is allowed on the east side of the beach, but due to the proximity to the nesting area of piping plovers there may be times when kiting is not allowed.
Kitesurfers are required to stay 100 feet from all swimmers and swim zones.
