The Town of Middletown is lucky to have a number of dedicated community partners whose mission is to support residents and work to improve the experiences of those who live, work and play here. Adult Learning
Aquidneck Island Adult Learning Center is a full-service adult learning center providing adult education, vocational and job readiness programs to Newport County youth and adults.
EBCAP Education and Career Pathways helps people meet their educational goals, job readiness skills, and improved career opportunities. It offers instruction that works with your schedule; encourages active involvement; and provides a community of support.
The PASS Program is a 14-week life skills and job readiness program run by Turning Around Ministries. It is geared towards at-risk and underserved people in the community, offering a wide range of help in a workplace-like setting.
Animals & Pets
Potter League For Animals is dedicated to promoting, protecting and advancing the well-being of Rhode Island’s companion animals.

Developmental Disabilities/Special Needs
The James L. Maher Center fosters independence and opportunity, promotes dignity, and advances integration in housing, employment and social engagement for people with developmental and other disabilities.
Looking Upwards offers a wide array of services to adults with developmental disabilities and children and youth with special healthcare needs.
The Office of Rehabilitation Services, through the state's Department of Human Services, assists individuals with disabilities to choose, prepare for, obtain, advance in, and maintain competitive integrated employment.
Elderly Affairs
Middletown Senior Center is a great place for older adults to enjoy learning new skills, exercise, and socialize over meals and special events. The Senior Center is committed to enriching the lives of older adults by empowering self-confidence and encouraging independence.
Blenheim Newport provides assisted living, respite care, and memory care.
The Grand Islander provides Alzheimer's/dementia care, Long-Term, Palliative, Restorative and Pain Management Care; and intensive nursing and rehabilitative care for patients recovering from surgery or illness.
John Clarke Senior Living is a short-term rehab and retirement center on Aquidneck Island with Baptist roots.
PACE gives older adults the supportive care they need to remain independent at home.
Rhode Island's Office of Healthy Aging connects residents with information and resources that will help them age strong.
RI Elder Info's mission is to empower people throughout the aging journey by providing easy one-stop access to comprehensive information and services.
The Royal Health Center At Forest Farm has short-term rehabilitation and long-term care options to provide specialized, personalized care. It is a 50-bed facility and offers a limited number of private rooms.
Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice is a not-for-profit, independent home healthcare and hospice agency, providing optimal health and quality of life for individuals and families.
Environment
Aquidneck Land Trust's mission is to preserve and steward Aquidneck Island’s open spaces for the lasting benefit of the community, while connecting people with the land that defines the Island’s natural character.
The Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District works to promote long-lasting and environmentally friendly practices that protect natural resources such as soil, water, and air. One of their programs is the Portsmouth AgInnovation Farm, which is a student-driven community farm education initiative, serving both Portsmouth Middle School and Joseph H. Gaudet Middle School.
Middletown Clean provides various opportunities to help Middletown look its best.
Middletown Parks & Recreation oversees a number of beautiful, world class facilities across the community, led by Second and Third beaches.
Norman Bird Sanctuary is a nonprofit wildlife sanctuary and environmental education center with more than 300 acres of diverse habitats and seven miles of hiking trails.
Family & Health
Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Rhode Island is committed to making a difference in the lives of young people by providing children in our communities with professionally trained and supported adult mentors.
Child & Family is the largest social service provider in Newport County offering services for children, families and older adults.
Conexion Latina Newport supports the needs of the Hispanic/Latino community by creating connections and partnerships with resources and advocacy and creating pathways to increase access and representation.
East Bay Community Action Program's mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive and accessible health and human services to assist people to achieve their fullest potential.
Newport County YMCA has a variety of health and wellness programs for people of all ages and abilities.
Rhode Island Department of Human Services is the state agency that oversees childcare subsidies, Medicaid/Medicare programs, RI Works, State Supplemental Income, Energy and water, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Women's Resource Center works with the community to end domestic violence. The center provides counseling and legal support to clients and has emergency shelter and temporary housing to domestic violence victims.
Food
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center provides free onsite hot breakfast Monday-Friday, an onsite food pantry and mobile food pantry options, as well as a Foods 2 Friends monthly grocery delivery program for those unable to leave their homes.
The Salvation Army provides food pantry services for Newport County residents and serves as a weekly congregant meal site.

East Bay Community Action Program offers an array of programs and services including a food pantry at their Broadway location.
Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) provides additional funds to help with monthly grocery bills. Sign up directly through the Department of Human Services at their office or apply online through HealthSource RI.
Heating Assistance
East Bay Community Action’s Low Income Home Assistance Program provides direct payments to help with home heating costs.
Housing & Rent
Church Community Housing Corporation provides first-time homebuyers support, rental and home repairs for income eligible residents.
Newport Housing Hotline offers front line assistance to those living in Newport County and looking to stay in their homes along with finding affordable housing and providing services to unhoused individuals.
RI Emergency Shelter Support (RAP) Newport Mental Health helps individuals and household experiencing homelessness can begin the process of accessing housing, supportive services, and emergency shelter.
Medical
East Bay Family Health is a patient-centered medical home that has a team of caring providers and staff that work closely together to help our patients live happy, healthy lives. Our team of primary care providers specializes in a number of different areas: Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or Women’s Health.
Lifespan Urgent Care located on West Main Road is open 7 days a week.
Newport Hospital is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility offering a wide array of services.
Mental Health & Substance Use

Behavioral Health Group offers medication-assisted recovery treatment for individuals, as well as counseling and behavioral interventions.
CODAC Behavioral Health offers treatment, recovery and prevention services to individuals and families.
Healthy Living in Recovery's wholistic health model helps individuals and families on the road to recovery from substance use disorders.
Newport Mental Health delivers trauma-informed, evidence-based services to children, adolescents, families, and adults who are experiencing problems with mental illness, substance abuse or stress in their lives that would benefit from counseling and other behavioral health services and supports.
Transportation
Bike Newport's mission is to create the conditions that lead to more people biking more often, and to ensure that bicycling is a viable, safe, and comfortable primary choice for transportation and recreation.
Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) provides public transportation routes around the state. Riders must pay with exact change or a Wave card, which may be purchased on the Wave mobile app or at a local retailer, such as 7 Eleven or Shaw's. Local routes include the 60 (Providence/Newport) and the 63 (Broadway/Middletown Shops).

Operation Stand Down RI serves homeless and at-risk veterans.
Rhode Island Office of Veterans Services
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4487, Gilbert Burton works to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of oversees conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans.
Youth Enrichment Opportunities
Beyond the Bell provides academic tutoring to students referred by teachers for extra support.
Boys and Girls Club of Newport County offers afterschool daycare and a teen drop-in center serving students in Middletown and Newport.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center Hunger Services offers both an after-school academy and a summer adventure camp for elementary-aged children.
EBCAP’s Child Opportunity Zone (COZ) provides afterschool enrichment programs at Aquidneck Elementary, Forest Avenue Elementary, and Gaudet Middle School.
FabNewport’s youth development programs empower students through making, learning, and doing.
Middletown Prevention Coalition works to prevent underage drinking and substance use. The Islanders Committed groups at the middle and high schools provide fun opportunities for students to build healthy friendships.
Newport County YMCA offers a wide variety of programs for people of all ages, ability and interests including before and afterschool care, summer camps, and swimming.
